About

The Podcast

Josh and Alex met in their education and social sciences classes at James Madison University, where they each expressed a desire to go deeper into their coursework. They enjoyed discussing education together, and envisioned the possibility of sharing ideas with a wider audience than their course syllabi allowed. Both considering podcasts and broadcasting a hobby, they were inspired to create an online community to facilitate a conversation with a broader audience.

The phrase “Two Coffee Teachers” was inspired by a mutual classmate of Josh and Alex who was impressive as a future educator, but was only able to teach after two cups of coffee. Thus, the Two Coffee Teachers Podcast was influenced by the desire to encourage educators in ways that will bring out their best without needing that second cup of coffee!
